Safe Communities of St. Joseph County

Safe Communities is a community based injury prevention program. The goals of the program are to:

  • Reduce injury rates and eliminate causes of injuries;
  • Motivate citizens to assume personal responsibility for injury prevention;
  • Obtain program ownership and acceptance by citizens as well as local government and community institutions; and,
  • Link injury data and evaluate program results through data collection, awareness and attitude surveys.

*Several of the surveys are available on-line: Survey of Youth Attitudes and Behaviors and a Community Attitude Survey. We invite you to voice your opinion.
